Update on plans for the 2021 Congress
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and uncertainties, about the feasibility and affordability of international travel and hosting large gatherings, which will continue well into 2021, the iHEA Board has taken the decision that the 2021 iHEA Congress will be held virtually. Cape Town will now be the location for an onsite congress in 2023. We have taken this decision at an early stage to enable us to organize an outstanding global virtual event, retaining the emphasis on presentation of quality scientific research and providing many opportunities for rich discussion and engagement with colleagues. We will engage with members as we design the virtual congress and plans unfold.
We are excited about the opportunity to explore digital approaches to engaging a wider audience than is able to participate in onsite congresses, and hope that you will be equally excited and engaged with the virtual congress. We encourage you to submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee.
The broad timeline for abstract submissions, review and program development is as follows (exact dates will be included as plans are finalized):
September 2020 | Abstract submissions open |
Early December 2020 | Abstract submission closes |
January 2021 | Abstract review process |
